How we write and check our guides

Last updated

Where our numbers come from

Every fee, requirement and figure links to its source and shows the date we checked it. We use the lender's, agency's or state's own page whenever one exists. If we can't find a primary source for a number, we leave the number out.

Who edits the pages

Moe Ameen edits Glisten's guides. Each page shows his name, plus the date it went up or was last changed.

How often pages are checked

Comparison and pricing pages are re-checked every 30 days. Guides are reviewed every 90 days. We change a page's "updated" date only when its content changes.

What we won't say

We don't promise that a lender will say yes, or that your score will move by a set number of points. We show what lenders publish. Whether they lend to you is up to them.

Partners don't edit our pages

Companies that pay us referral fees can't edit our guides, change the requirements we show or buy a place in a list. How Glisten makes money has the details.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake, tell us through the contact page. We'll fix it and update the page and its date.
